Take two!

Take two! Session number two 12/3/20

Learning from each other! Why not copy and paste the questions in!

  • What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?

Editing my bookmarks is a must do, editing unnecessary words, pinning tabs, making a folder or a folder within a folder. Utilising my calendars, making sure I am mindful of which one I am in!

  • What did I learn that could be used with my learners?

I found today's session more useful for me professionally, organising my workflow was its brief after all.

  • What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow in my personal life?

Google Keep could be a real game changer. I thought that had real potential. I have it on my phone and it is just a matter of diving in and using it. Presently I have a ' to do list' on my home screen of my phone which I add and delete from. However Google keep is so much more! Cheryl showed us how you can take a photo of some text and then go to grab image text and can then transfer it to google docs.

I am practicing adding in links using ctrl A, C and V. Need to remember to click on link and give a new title to get rid of all the 'gobbeldy gook!' ( which is not a word in my dictionary!)

As an aside from responding to the questions. The group hangout was challenging, juggling and navigating my way around but with Maria's coaching I was able to share my screen.

I set up a hangout for tomorrow. I am hopeful that I may even be able to impress my 25 year old daughter who has studied coding. Is she familiar with one tab? Toby mini? (not the full on Toby who takes over your life!), nudges and boomerangs...my vocab is expanding if nothing else! Keep deep diving and swimming.

  1. Kia ora Sarah,
You are most definitely swimming in the digital sea. Yes, some parts of DFI are challenging with Hangouts being a big one which is why we give many opportunities to practice.
I hope the Hangout with your daughter was worthwhile and she was impressed!
    Ngā mihi,
    Maria

  2. Kia ora Sarah,
I know how you feel about Keep. It is a life saver! I use it all the time on my phone - so easy to put all sorts of stuff onto.
Hangouts might become very important to us in the close future with #remotelearning a possibility.
It was great working with you in day #2.
